Fire Extinguisher Cabinet Definitions
- Cabinet Tub - This refers to
the box part of the cabinet in which the fire extinguisher is held.
In a recessed cabinet the box part is either partially or fully
canceled depending on if the cabinet is semi-recessed or fully
recessed respectively.
- Glazing - Refers to furnishing
or fitting with glass or plastic. A fire extinguisher cabinet
can have a glass or plastic opening on the face or door of the
cabinet.
- Non-Rated Fire Extinguisher Cabinet
- A cabinet that is designed to hold a fire extinguisher that is not
fire rated.
- Fire Rated Extinguisher Cabinet
- A cabinet that is designed to hold a fire
extinguisher and is insulated to withstand heat from a fire for a designated
amount of time. The Warnock
Hersey Mark signifies that the fire extinguisher cabinet meets
relevant building codes and association criteria as well as product
safety and performance standards.
